Funeral service for Helen Sophia Marciniak, 93, of Aurora, will be 10am Friday, July 28, 2017 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Fr. Peter Lambert officiating. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora, MN. Helen died peacefully, Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at her home in Carefree Assisted Living, in Aurora, MN. Helen was born on March 25, 1924, the daughter of the late, John and Mary (Gornick) Bartol, of Aurora. She attended and graduated from Aurora High School. She moved shortly after to Milwaukee WI and worked at the International Harvester Company assembling items for the military. This is where she met the love of her life, Stanley L. Marciniak. He was honorably discharged from the army and was the foreman of the plant. They immediately fell in love and were married on December 2, 1947. They lived in Milwaukee for many years until he passed away. She then moved back to Aurora, July of 2001, to be closer to family. She loved to spend time with her sister, Julie Bartol, who also lived right behind her home in Aurora. They would go to various restaurants in the area for lunch and dinner, almost every day. She loved tending to her yard and watched the EWTN station, faithfully. Helen’s favorite hobby, and was known by many in Milwaukee, for making delicate egg decorations. They would be painted based on different countries, nationalities or would have different scenes with people or animals inside of them. Her eggs were very detailed and beautiful. She would many times display them at functions at the Hawks Inn Historical Society, Delafield, WI, where she was a member. She would decorate at least three trees at Christmas time, to display her prize decorations. She is survived by her brother Thomas Bartol (Maryann), Aurora, MN; nieces, Marilyn Skarja, Minneapolis, MN; Barbara Starken (Bruce); Tammy Skorich (Mathew) Buhl, MN; Cindy Klinker (Scott) Conifer, CO; as well as many great nieces and nephews inlcuding Aron Autio, Rice Lake, WI; Dana Starken, St. Cloud, MN; Anthony (Breann) Starken; Nicole Dreier, Grand Rapids, MN; Kaylee Starken, Aurora, MN; Collin & Alissa Klinker, Conifer, CO; and great, great nieces and nephew Alex, Abigail, Madison and Arianna, who all loved her very much. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Marciniak; parents John and Mary Bartol; Sisters Jenny Holle, Julie Bartol, Mae Perushek; brothers Anthony Zabukovich, Frank and Henry Bartol.
