Ivanka Sesek

Ivanka Sesek, 94, formerly of Gilbert, died August 21, 2017 at Alden Estates Senior Care in Jefferson, WI. She was born May 3, 1923 to Ivana (Dovc) and Franc Novak in Loški Potok Slovenia, and lived in Ljubljana-Polje. After the war, while in Austria, she married Vladimir Sesek on June 9, 1946 prior to coming to the United States September 1949 to Grand Rapids, Minnesota. They relocated to Gilbert in 1950 where she worked for 20 years for the Cluett Peabody shirt factory. Ivanka was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was involved with delivering Meals on Wheels and helped in the church kitchen. Ivanka was a member of the KSKJ lodge, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vladimir, her parents, her brother Rev. Franc Novak, sisters Slava and Marija. She is survived by her sister Ancka Skvarca, and other family members in Argentina, daughter, Mary Ann (John Jr.) Tushar of Temecula, CA, son, Joseph (Cheryl) Sesek of Milton, WI, granddaughters Kristina Sesek, and Amanda (Mitchell) Snyder, and great granddaughters, Kaydence and Madilynn. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 10:00am in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. Inurnment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert.
