Ardeen Anderson, age 86, of Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the Northfield Hospital. Ardeen was born October 8, 1930, the daughter of Jacob and Lillian (Pritzkau) Streyle in Napoleon, North Dakota. There she was raised and graduated from high school. She then attended college in Bismarck for two years and met James G. Anderson. The couple were united in marriage on April 23, 1950, in Napoleon. Jim was a teacher and high school principal so they moved to several communities including Jamestown, Elgin, Valley City all in North Dakota and Fertile, Minnesota before settling in Aurora, Minnesota. Over the years, Ardeen worked as a secretary, sold Avon and in sales at a shoe store, but mostly she cared for her children. Jim died March 12, 2015. During their retirement years, Jim and Ardeen traveled throughout the United States. She was meticulous about her home. Everything had its place and was spotless. She enjoyed shopping and took pride in her appearance when she dressed for public. She was very giving and generous. Ardeen loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her children: James (Debra) Anderson of Northfield, David (Jeanne) Anderson of Montgomery, Shawn Anderson of Crystal, and Susan (Peter) Sarberg of Alexandria; Grandchildren: Aaron, Toby, Megan, Katie, Melissa, Kristina, Stephanie, Matthew; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents, three brothers Alan, Harlan, Jack and a sister Karen. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3pm Friday, September 22, 2017 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Friends may gather one hour prior. Inurnment was in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
