Memorial service for Junette Althea Duich, 81, of rural Aurora, will be 10:30am Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Palo with Pastor Barb Hegfors officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Junette died Friday, September 15, 2017 at her residence. She was born July 6, 1936 in Mesabi Location, Minnesota to Helmer and Marie (Peterson) Johnson. She was a graduate of Aurora High School and later married Thomas Duich on April 23, 1955. Junette earned her Bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Minnesota- Duluth. She taught at Cina Elementary for two years and then became a homemaker. Junette enjoyed music. She taught and played piano and enjoyed playing violin, electric organ and accordion at local nursing homes. Her full time pass times were working on the computer and tending to her nearly 150 houseplants. She also enjoyed nature and feeding the animals. Junette attended St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Palo. Survivors include her husband, Thomas; children: Susan (Rick) Boersma of Stratton, Ontario Canada, Michael (Kathy) Duich of Duluth and Rodney (Lily) Duich of Littleton, CO; grandchildren: Dennis, Erika, Anthony and Angela; great grandchildren: Tim, Lydia, Naomi, Colten, Quinn and Boone; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lois Froen.
