Dorothy died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet. She was born on August 12, 1930 to Bob and Hazel (Miller) Rotsolk in Burtrum, MN. Dorothy met James while he was serving in the US Navy in Oregon. They were married on September 3, 1949 in Searles, MN. A short time later the couple moved to Aurora where they remained. She had been employed by the Arrow Shirt Factory in Gilbert as well as for the White Community Hospital as a nurses’ aide. She was also a dedicated Oblate of St. Benedict, St. Scholastica Monastery. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, and sewing beautiful clothes for everyone. She took the most pleasure in camping, especially when she and Jim took their grandchildren to Fisherman’s Point. They would spend a week with David and Kelly individually. The kids cherish the one-on-one time together with their grandmother and grandfather. Those memories will not be forgotten. Dorothy had spent time traveling along the west coast and Canada. Above all, Dorothy’s pride and joy was her son, David. They were equally dedicated to each other. Survivors include her husband: James; one son: David (Jessie) Dauer of Cloquet; grandson: David John (Kathy) Dauer of Deerwood; granddaughter: Kelly (Sean) Sweeney of Hastings; great-granddaughters: Jessica Dauer of Duluth and Samantha Dauer of Minneapolis; great-grandsons: Morgan, Jackson, and Collin Sweeney all of Hastings; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-father, Myron Nunnemaker; and a brother, Don Rotsolk.
