A gathering of friends and family for Milan Dale Lesar, 95, of Aurora will be held from noon-2 pm Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora with military honors accorded by the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes Color Guard. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to a charity of donor’s choice. Milan died Thursday, November 09, 2017 at Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora. He was born on August 20, 1922 to Slovenian immigrant parents Vincent and Agnes (Francel) Lesar in Aurora. Milan grew up and attended school in Aurora, graduating from the Aurora High School in 1942. Following high school, Milan enlisted in the US Navy and served during WWII. Milan was employed by Pickens Mather and later Erie Mining from where he retired as a filter attendant. He was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting, fishing, and photography. Milan was a member of the Aurora American Legion Post 241. Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and twelve siblings: Agnes, Vincent, Frank, Frances, William, Edward, Fred, Maggie, Arthur, Emma and two infant siblings.
