Funeral Mass for Corwin Maurice Johnson, 16, of Aurora, will be 10am Friday, November 17, 2017 at Our Lady of Hope Parish in Aurora, MN with Fr. Peter Lambert officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7pm with a time of personal remembrances at 5:00-5:30pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Corwin died Saturday November 11, 2017 in rural Aurora. He was born December 12, 2000 in Billings, Montana. As a child, Corwin enjoyed the outdoors. He was currently a Junior at Mesabi East High School and worked at Giants Ridge in the housekeeping department. Corwin was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was talented at re-loading his own rifle shells and manufactured his own fishing lures. He was also known to spend time in his “man cave” in the garage, outdoors four wheeling or spending time with the hunting party. Corwin had a deep faith. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish where he was baptized and attended catechism. He was a member of Iron Range Youth In Action and was recently awarded for his volunteering work by Mayor Mary Hess. He will be remembered for his willingness and ability to help people of all ages. Survivors include his mother, Renee Johnson; sisters: Saphyre Johnson, Alizandra Johnson and Sharon Grippe; brothers: Forrest Johnson and Shawn Johnson; special uncles in his life: Maurice (Marie) Cline and Gary (Judy) Bennett; several other aunts and uncles who were special to him; numerous cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Katheryn Cline and an aunt, Kathy Johnson.
