Anne M. Strukel

Funeral Mass for Anne Marie Strukel, 93, of Biwabik, will be 10am Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Our Lady of Hope Parish in Biwabik, MN with Fr. Peter Lambert as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. Interment will take place in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik, MN. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert, MN. Anne died Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Essentia Health – Virginia, MN. Anne was born March 28, 1924 in Gilbert, MN to Frank and Frances (Bratun) Press. She was a 1942 graduate of Gilbert High School and later worked for Willys Overland during World War II in Toledo, Ohio. On December 27, 1947 she married Joseph Strukel in Gilbert. Anne was a homemaker and member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Biwabik and its council of Catholic women. She enjoyed cooking and baking, but her passion was gardening and especially enjoyed growing roses. She was a member of the Biwabik Garden Club. Survivors include her children: Robert (Linda) Strukel of Virginia, Mary Beth (Robert) Hruby of Fergus Falls, Marjorie Strukel of Virginia, Sharon (Joseph) Vaida of McKinley and Ken (Michelle) Strukel of Chisholm; 11 grandchildren: Joe, Ben, Katie, Theresa, Mary, Nathan, Holly, Luke, Rory, Samantha and David; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frances; husband, Joseph; granddaughter, Sarah; son-in-law, Thomas Chopp and seven siblings.
