Funeral Service for Sandra Berg,78, of Biwabik, will be 10:30AM Friday, January 5, 2018 at Community United Church of Christ with Pastor John Szarke officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Sandra died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Essentia Health – Northern Pines in Aurora, MN. Sandra was born June 1, 1939 in Gilbert, Minnesota to John and Elsie (Berquist) Leif. She attended school in Biwabik and was crowned Miss Biwabik in High School. On June 16, 1956 she married Arvin Berg in Biwabik. Sandra was a homemaker and worked a short time at the Biwabik Times. She was an active member of the Community United Church of Christ, its pasty sales and women’s fellowship. She was also a member of the Gilbert VFW Auxiliary and was an active grandparent at her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Survivors include her children: Dan (Karen) Berg, Connie (Rob) Hoffman and Todd (Kim) Berg; grandchildren: Shannon (Mike), Kristen (Chuck), Brianna, Austin, Courtney (Jon) and Robert; several great grandchildren; siblings: LaVerne Skalko, Yvonne (Frank) Lopp, Dana (Milt) Sundeen and Bob (Charlotte) Leif; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arvin; grandson, Patrick; sister, Kathleen; brothers, Royden and Rick.
