Memorial service for Nancy Mae Swentik, 60, of Aurora will be 10 am Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Fr. Peter Lambert officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Nancy died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. She was born on April 23, 1957 to Howard and Mable (Engles) Lauseng in Watertown, SD. She grew up and attended school in Watertown. Following her schooling she moved to Aurora and married Kenneth Swentik on February 28, 1976 in Hoyt Lakes. Nancy was a devoted homemaker and mother. She also held various jobs throughout her life, most recently at The Bar in Aurora. Nancy enjoyed her pets of all kinds. She took pleasure in summer night bon fires with friends and family and taking saunas at her cousins’ house. She will be remembered for her willingness to help anyone in need. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Ken; two children: Bonnie (Brad) Bandas of St. Cloud and Gyle (Maggie) Swentik of Hoyt Lakes; grandchildren: Veronica Bandas of St. Cloud and Coral Swentik of Warroad; one great grandson: Ryder; siblings: Sue (Merlyn) Hines of Huron, SD, Gary (Carol Kleuth) Lauseng of HL, Dick Lauseng of Aberdeen, SD, Diane (Rick) Block of Wallace, SD, and Linda (Al) Migge of Watertown, SD; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Howard and Betty Lauseng and Mable and Godfree Mohr; and a brother-in-law, Tom Redlin.
