Memorial service for Jenna Jayleen Takavitz, 30, of Duluth will be held at 11 am Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Pastor John Brooks officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Jenna died Friday, January 26, 2018 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle incident. She was born in Virginia on January 25, 1988 to Frank and Diane (Morris) Takavitz. She grew up on Ely Lake and attended Eveleth-Gilbert School until ninth grade when her family moved to the Twin Cities. Jenna graduated from North High School, Class of 2006, with her senior year at Century College. She then attended Lake Superior College and completed her BA in marketing at UMD. Jenna held an array of jobs including Super One Foods, Texas Road House, Duluth Cleaning, Ledge Rock Grille, Your Home Improvement, and Michael’s arts and crafts to name a few. She also worked as an independent contractor for Mesabi Community Television as a videographer. She enjoyed art, fishing, sewing, cooking, cleaning, gardening, and movies. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends and frequently attended church. Jenna will be remembered for the strength of her spirit, commitment to others and a smile that could light up a room. Survivors include her two sons: Eli Gunnar-Lee and Savior Mathew Lund; her parents: Frank and Diane Takavitz of Eveleth; two sisters: Amber (Daniel) Bigley and Lynsey (Paul Wilkins) Takavitz, both of Anchorage, AK; a niece and nephew: Acacia and Alden Bigley; aunts: Barbara Rahkola of Cromwell; Elizabeth (Buddy) Vars of Collins, GA; Nancy (Darwyn) Olson of Ely; along with many cousins and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her fiancé’, Cody James Lund in 2015; a brother, Robert Jon Mitchell; grandparents: Arlene and Larry Morris and Frank and Justine Takavitz; aunts: Rita Takavitz and Sandra Russo; and an uncle, James Buehre.
