Memorial service for Melita R Stewart, 87, of Gilbert will be 1 pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Pastor Nathan Lobb officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Mondovi, WI at a later date. Melita died Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. She was born on October 4, 1930 to Vernon and Myrtle (Crawford) Smith in New York state. She grew up on a family farm in Mondovi, WI and graduated from Mondovi High School. Melita married Donald Bloom on October 6, 1951. The couple raised three boys. She later remarried Harland Stewart for twenty years until his death. Following Harland’s death, Melita moved to Minnesota to be near her family. Melita enjoying crocheting, knitting, and embroidery. Survivors include three sons: Charles (Dianne) Bloom of Gilbert, Eugene (Cindy) Bloom of Gilmanton, WI, and Jeffery (Pam) Bloom Mondovi, WI; nine grandchildren: Kenneth Bloom, Trina (RJ) Borgerding, Paul (Jennifer) Bloom, Amy Fedie, Stacy Rudd, Carrie (Luke) Crawford, Matt Bloom, Samantha Bloom, and Eli Bloom; twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Mindy Bloom; sister, Donna Nyre; two brothers, twin Marshall and Thomas Smith; and her parents.
