Funeral service for Doreen Litchy, 81, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 11am Friday, March 9, 2018 at Trinity Methodist Church in Hoyt Lakes with Rev. Jerry Kosanovich officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Doreen died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Essentia Health – Northern Pines in Aurora, Minnesota. She was born June 16, 1936 in Brainerd, MN to Charles and Bethea Maghan. Doreen was a graduate of Crosby-Ironton High School and later worked in Minneapolis as a secretary for the Federal Government. She returned to Brainerd and worked secretarial for an insurance agency. On October 19, 1957 she married Robert Litchy in Brainerd. The couple moved to Hoyt Lakes in 1958 where Doreen enjoyed raising her children and being a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She bartended at the Aurora Moose, was a Den Mother and Cub Scout leader. She was an avid crafter, league bowler and former Women of the Moose member. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Robert; children: Kevin (Lori) of Anoka, Candace (Tom Halliday) of Aurora, Craig of Hoyt Lakes, Tracy (Linda) of Hutchinson, Bradley (Cristy) of Hoyt Lakes, Lonny of Aurora and Branden (Lynn) of Hoyt Lakes; 20 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; sisters: Marilyn Dosh of Dilworth and Mona (Johnny) Hogan of Princeton; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Raymond.
