Dellie died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora. She was born on December, 8, 1929 to Joseph and Anna (Otremba) Gohl on their family farm near Pierz. Dellie was strong enough to work outside performing farm duties with her brothers during the day and helped cook big family dinners inside alongside her sisters. Dellie taught herself how to play the accordion on their porch. She helped raise her nieces and nephew following the death of their mother, Agnes. Dellie moved to the Twin Cities for a short time where she was employed by Armor Meats. Dellie returned to the family farm and met her first husband, Leslie Perkins. Following Leslie’s untimely death, Dellie purchased a home of her own in Pierz and raised her two small children while operating a boarding house out her home. On October 11, 1960, Dellie married Robert Tretter. The family moved to Aurora where Dellie was a devoted wife and mother. Dellie was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora and their guilds. She was also a member of the Aurora American Legion, Hoyt Lakes VFW, the former Aurora Moose Lodge and a charter member of the Ranger Snowmobile Club, which was responsible for forging the trails still used today. Dellie enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, deer hunting, fishing, baking, and raising chickens. She was known to always greet family and friends with a massive feast. Dellie will be remembered as a wonderful storyteller with a lovely laugh. She cared deeply for her husband and adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
