Funeral service for Katherine L. "Kaye" Allers, 92, of Gilbert, formerly of Sandstone, will be 1pm Thursday May 13, 2010 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Virginia with Rev. Brad Felix officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Spring Park Cemetery in Sandstone, MN. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Kaye went to be with the Lord Sun. May 9, 2010 in the Virginia Convalescent Care Center. She was born Jan. 5, 1918 in Jamestown, ND to Donald and Matilda (Engrave) Dancer. Kaye married Alvin Allers on Apr. 11, 1942 in Sandstone. They moved to Gilbert in 1952 where Kaye worked as a seamstress for the Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory. She retired from there in 1976. Kaye was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in its guilds and women's circles. She was also a member of the George and Mark Klobuchar VFW Auxiliary in Gilbert and was an avid league bowler until the age of 85. For the past few years Kaye was a resident of the Convalescent Care Center where she received excellent care and was treated like family by all who worked there. Survivors include her sister: Viola Palmer of Finlayson and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that she loved as her own children. Kaye was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Alvin (1992); brothers: Donald, Harvey and Kenneth; sister: Evelyn Giese
