Funeral Mass for Conrad Andrew Lautigar, 81, of Tower-Lake Vermilion, will be 11am Friday, August 20, 2010 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. Charles Flynn and Fr. Joseph Thomas celebrating the mass. Visitation will be Thursday (today) from 5-7pm with recitation of the rosary at 6:30pm in Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the mass at church on Friday. Burial with military honors accorded by the Gilbert Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Mr. Lautigar died Monday, August 16, 2010 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. He was born May 18, 1929 in McKinley, MN to Andrew and Josephine (Lebon) Lautigar. Following his graduation from Gilbert High School, he received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from St. Cloud State University in Education and Administration. Conrad served our country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. He married Sally Indihar on August 1, 1959 in Gilbert. He was employed by the St. Louis County Schools as a teacher and administrator. Conrad was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tower and the Knights of Columbus. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and being on Lake Vermilion. Survivors include his wife: Sally, children: Gregory Lautigar of Florida, Jeana (Bob McGowan) Lautigar of Edina and Julie (Chris) Beutz of Edina, grandchildren: Kate and Robby McGowan and Jack, Estelle and Amelia Beutz, sisters: Helen Mehring and Josephine Lautigar both of Milwaukee, several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David.
