Ardis "Arvella" Delage, 69, of Biwabik died Thursday, September 30, 2010, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born April 22, 1941, in New Paris, Ohio to Clarence "Shorty" and Camille (Williams) Miles. She attended school in Indiana and Aitkin, Minnesota. Her earlier years were spent in Biwabik, where she worked as a bartender for many years and also worked as a secretary for Group Health Insurance. Later she moved to Minneapolis, where she worked as a florist for several years. Following that, she moved back to Biwabik to be near her family and friends. She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, painting ceramics, and walleye fishing. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Dan) Hardy of W.A.; grandchildren: Sarah (Steve) Dowell, Dustin Hardy, Levi Hardy of W.A.; great-grandchildren: Tori and Hunter; one niece and two nephews; step-mother, Irene Miles of Biwabik; two step-brothers, and one step-sister; and her adopted family, the Line's. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Madre (Paul) Lindquist, and Gloria Line. Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with the Rev. Amy Eisenmann officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior.
