Eugene A. DeBaere

Eugene A. DeBaere Funeral services for Eugene DeBaere, 83, of Gilbert, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday October 15, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. Charles P. Flynn officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday 5-7 PM with a 6:30 PM Rosary Service at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Visitation will continue Friday one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Eugene passed away on Friday October 8, 2010 at his home in Gilbert. Eugene was born January 17, 1927 to Edward and Pauline (Van DenBroecke) DeBaere in Ghent, Minnesota He grew up in southern Minnesota. On July 20, 1948 Eugene was united in marriage with Louise Loke in Marshall. Eugene moved to Gilbert in 1957. For 10 years he worked in mining. He then had a career in forestry and construction. Eugene enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, and helping on his son-in-law's farm. Eugene is survived by children Thomas DeBaere of Bakersfield, CA, Gerard DeBaere of Gilbert, Joseph (Kay) DeBaere of Hibbing, Michael (Denise) DeBaere of Aurora, Patricia (James) Nemec of Meadowlands, Roberta (Leslie) Alto of Aurora; 11 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; sister Victoria Farager of Marshall. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Pauline, wife Louise, sisters Marie Boncquet, Florence Buysse, Julian Smith; brothers Bernard, Louis, Raymond and Victor. Arrangements are with the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert.
