Memorial service for Charles J. Morrison Jr., 94, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 11am Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Hoyt Lakes with Rev. Amy Eisenmann officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment with military honors by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Mr. Morrison died Fri. Oct. 15, 2010 at Essentia Health-Northern Pines Medical Center (White Community Hospital) Aurora. He was born June 16, 1916 in Duluth, MN to Charles Sr. and Clara (Kron) Morrison. He attended Denfeld High School and later married Signe Saltvick on Oct. 11, 1940 in Duluth. Charles served with the US Army for four years during WWII. He returned to Duluth and in 1958 moved to Hoyt Lakes where he worked for Erie Mining Company. He retired from there as a mechanic. Charles was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, AARP, the Steelworkers Union 4108, the Timothy Robinson VFW Post and was an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Signe, daughters, Lynne Morrison of Duluth, Patricia (Bruce) Morrison-Lais of Apple Valley and Chele (Jerry) Hansen of Owensville, MO, sister, Junice Wheeler of Lincoln, Neb., grandchildren, Tiffany Pellegrino, Cory Hansen, Zachary, Jordan, Jared and Alex Lais, great grandchildren, James and Justin Pellegrino, Payton and Presley Lais. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Scott and a brother, Myron.
