Funeral Mass for John P. Pedri, 83, of McKinley, will be 10am Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at St. John's Catholic Church in Biwabik with Fr. Steven Daigle as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial with military honors by the Gilbert VFW Post will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Mr. Pedri died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Edgewood Vista in Virginia, MN. He was born July 8, 1927 in Wyco, West Virginia to John and Severina (Flaim) Pedri. John was a 1945 graduate of Gilbert High School and later served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. John worked for Gulf Oil Explosives at the Mary Ellen Mine and later married Frances Rustic on August 9, 1952 in Eveleth, MN. John worked for the Gilbert Public School System as a bus driver with 29 1/2 years of service. He retired from there in 1990. John was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Gilbert VFW Post, a member of the McKinley Fire Department (1958-1990) and served on the McKinley Planning and Zoning Commission. John's family would like to thank the staff of Edgewood Vista and St. Mary's Hospice for the excellent care given to him over the past several weeks. Survivors include his three nephews, Gary (Elizabeth) Pedri, Dan (Linda) Pedri and Dave (Ruby Wilkison) Pedri all of Rock Springs, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Severina, wife, Frances, brothers, Silvio and one in infancy.
