Luisa Del Caro

Funeral service for Luisa Del Caro, 84, of Virginia, formerly of Biwabik, will be 11am Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Virginia. Luisa died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Virginia Regional Medical Center. She was born May 30, 1926 in Ceprano, Italy to Justino and Maria Abbatangeli. In November 1947 she married Pietro Del Caro in Ceprano. They immigrated to Eveleth in 1952 and later resided in Biwabik. Luisa worked for the Cluett Peabody Shirt Factor in Eveleth for several years. Luisa loved cooking for her family and friends who especially enjoyed her homemade pizza. Survivors include her ten children: Paola (Russell) McGillivray of Ajijie, Mexico, Maurizio (Linda) Del Caro of Lindstrom, Carlo (Kristie) Del Caro of Aurora, Adrian (Lyn) Del Caro of W. Lafayette, Indiana, Tere (Mark) Moehlenbrock of Little Falls, Daniel (Carol) Del Caro of Hokes Bluff, Alabama, Luisa (Darrel Maki) Del Caro of Forest Lake, Peter (Merrilu) Del Caro of Virginia, Sandra (Edward) McDonald of Oakdale, and Barbara (Philip) Del Caro Scaia of Plymouth, brother, Francesco (Filomena) Abbatangeli of Ceprano, Italy, brother-in-law, Ernesto of Italy, 22 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, Three Step-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, special friend, Vincenza Malich of Eveleth. Luisa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Pietro, sisters, Gugliemima, Fernanda and Giacinta.
