Visitation for Arnold Maurice Rudolph, 73, of Virginia, formerly of Hoyt Lakes, will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Interment will be at a later date in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery.
Arnold died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Edgewood Vista in Virginia, MN.
He was born June 22, 1945 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Maurice and Lillian (Ebersviller) Rudolph. Arnold was a 1963 graduate of Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School and began working at Erie Mining Company. He enlisted with the US Air Force and served during the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, he returned to Erie Mining Company and retired from LTV Steel as a millwright with 30 years of service. He was a fishing guide on Lake of the Woods and was a former Hoyt Lakes Police Officer.
He served on the Hoyt Lakes City Council and was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed camping and the outdoors. Arnold was a member of the Steelworkers Union 4108, the Rangers Snowmobile and ATV Club and served as a scoutmaster and Boy Scout leader in Hoyt Lakes.
Survivors include his brother, Duane (LeAnne) Rudolph of Eveleth; sister, Karlyne (David) Holm of Hermantown; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Esther Davis and Maurine Ray; nephews: Kevin Rudolph, Frank Jr and Kirby Ray.
