Memorial service for Beatrice Ione Collins, 81, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 11am Friday, December 20, 2024 at Trinity Methodist Church in Hoyt Lakes with Pastor Mary Lou Sixberry officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.
Bea died Saturday, December 14, 2024 at her home.
She was born July 29, 1943 in Wakefield, Michigan to Herbert and Adele (Jones) Adrian. Bea was a graduate of the University of North Dakota where she earned her Dietary Management Degree. On February 10, 1962 she married John “Tiny” Collins in Wakefield.
In the late 1960’s the couple moved to Hoyt Lakes. Bea began working as a waitress for Allison’s Café and later worked at White Community Hospital as a dietary manager for 30 years. Bea was a community volunteer and was active in the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Special Olympics and the Aurora Food shelf for many years. She participated in many cancer Walk-A-Thons and was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and its Bible Studies. One of her greatest accomplishments was to have served as a foster parent to over 90 children in nearly 50 years.
Survivors include her children: Tracy Hill, Willy (Melina) Collins, Daniel (Kevin) Davis, Chris Bauer, Becca Bauer, Julia (Brian) Carlson and Brittany (Jesse) Taylor; numerous foster children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her siblings: Herbert (Glenda) Adrian and Dorothy Kuma.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Adele Adrian; husband, John “Tiny”; and her son, John “J.J.”
