Christopher Michael Jones, 48, of Mt. Iron died Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth with his family by his side.
He was born on February 10, 1976 to Lloyd and Susan (Novak) Jones in Virginia. He graduated from the Mt. Iron-Buhl High School, Class of 1994. Chris furthered his education at UMD where he earned a BS degree in business and marketing in 1999. Since 2006, he has been employed at Seppi Brothers in sales and dispatch.
Chris was a member of several sporting leagues including pool and darts, baseball, bean bags and summer softball. He enjoyed taking family trips to Las Vegas, trapping with his Dad and spending time at the family’s hunting shack. Chris was an avid outdoorsman. Fall hunting was his absolute favorite with his Dad and brothers at their hunting shack. Fishing in the summer and ice fishing in the winter were close seconds.
Survivors include his parents: Lloyd and Susan of Virginia; siblings: Mike (Erin) Jones of Bass Lake, Steve (Julie) Jones of Cohasset and Nick (Jen) Jones of Centerville; nieces and nephew: Arayna, Casey, Autumn, Abbie, and Maddie; his grandmother, Katherine Jones of Virginia; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bill “Beets” and Pauline Novak and Walter Jones; and other family including: Wally Jones, Bill Jones, Dan & Margie Rozman, Jan Purkat, and Jennifer Purkat.
Thank you to our wonderful neighbors, family and friends who were always there to help us through. An extra special thank you to Solvay Hospice House for the amazing care given to Chris and the support given to his family.
Celebration of life will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2024 at BG’s Bar & Grill in Mt. Iron. Inurnment will be in the Rauha Cemetery in Palo. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home of Gilbert.
