Connie Rae McGath

Connie Rae (Liimatta) McGath, 72, formerly of Palo, Minnesota died on Tuesday, August, 22, 2023 at Essentia Health- Virginia.

Connie was born April 8, 1951 in Biwabik to Reino and Doris (Kilpela) Liimatta.

After moving from Minnesota, she has been a resident of Columbus, Indiana for the last 30 years. She liked to read and visit with people. She also enjoyed bowling.

Connie is survived by her son, Eric McGath, of Columbus, Indiana; life partner, Jim Brown, of Columbus, Indiana; sisters, Donna (Jerry) Stark, Shelley (Dan) Anttila; sister-in-law, Rosalyn Liimatta; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Doris; and brother, David Liimatta.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August, 25, 2023 at 10:00 am at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at the funeral home along with one hour prior to the start of the service on Friday.

Interment will take place at the Rauha Cemetery in Palo, MN.
