Dan "Paco" Johnson

March 2, 1957 — March 20, 2025

Aurora

Dan "Paco" Johnson, 68, of Aurora, MN, passed away in the home he built on March 20, 2025 after a 3-year battle with cancer.

He was born in Ashland, WI to Jacob and Nancy Johnson on March 2, 1957.

In his younger days, he was an avid trapper and hunter. He worked at LTV for 27 years before shutdown, then as a millwright welder for 5 years. After he retired, he always had his days planned out doing all kinds of projects with his wife. He loved to go fishing, especially on Lake Superior with friends. He never missed an occasion to get together with his kids and grandkids – with his wife always by his side. Dan was a very meticulous, determined, and dependable guy. He was very honest, but not quick to share his pain or burden others.

Surviving is his wife Sue of 30 years; children Amy (Derek) Stach, Joey Johnson, and Sarah (Eric) Michalski; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sisters and brothers Linnea, Arlene, Clifford, and David; mother Nancy; and brother-in-law Duane Kaska.

He was preceded in death by His Dad, his hero, Jacob Johnson; in-laws Paul, Darlene, Clint, and Mary Kaska.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Aurora. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the service, and a lunch will be served afterwards at the church.
