Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Aurora with Pastor John Jacguart officiating. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the services. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.
Darald Wayne Bogart, 72, of Hoyt Lakes died Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora.
He was born on September 20, 1952 to Melvin and June (LeMay) Bogart in International Falls. Darald’s family moved to Hoyt Lakes in 1957. He graduated from the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School, Class of 1970. Darald was employed at Erie Mining Co in September 1970 and later retired from LTV Steel upon the company’s closure in 2001. He went to work at Northshore Mining from 2001-2014. Darald was united in marriage to Phyllis Warren on November 6, 1970. The couple raised two children and as a family enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. Darald was a skilled fisherman and was affectionately known as “The Fish Whisperer”. He took the greatest pleasure in spending time with his family and friends. Darald is deeply loved and will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Phyllis; his mother, June Bogart; two children: Darald “Punky” Bogart and Jennifer Arola; his fur baby, Koda; grandchildren: Brittany (Brendan) Anderson, Dominic Delzotto, Shelby Ekroos, and Stella Bogart; great-granddaughter, Ari Lou Anderson; siblings: Diane Meacham, Melvin Bogart, Barb (Mark) Willet, and Norma (Roger) Stordahl; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Bogart; sister, Darlene Bogart; in-laws: Malianya Bogart and Todd Arola; two grandbabies: Hayden Bogart and Wren Ivy Anderson.
