Donald "Donny" Lee Randall Jr.

Donald “Donny” Lee Randall Jr., 67, of Aurora, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Donny was born to Donald and Shirley (Rauch) Randall on May 10, 1957, in Fort Carson, Colorado. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to the Iron Range, where Donny grew up with his two sisters, Kenne and Toni. After graduating from Aurora High School, he worked as a catskinner for the LTV Steel Mining Company until its closure.

Donny was united in marriage to Cathy Scott on July 16, 1977 and the couple raised two children together: Lee and Ashley. Known as “Bronson” to his friends, he was a skilled outdoorsman. He loved it all: hunting, camping, fishing, marksmanship, motorcycling, you name it. He also had a reputation for being able to fix anything. It was very important to Donny to pass this knowledge on to his kids. He spent countless hours wrenching with them, encouraging the love of the outdoors and the development of skills like marksmanship, reloading, fishing, and hunting. Donny also participated in the annual ALS motorcycle ride for many years.

Donny was a boisterous man who loved to BS. Under his rough exterior, he was a teddy bear of a guy who cared deeply about his family and friends. In particular, he got a kick out of playing with his grandkids. Donny was a special man, and he will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy; his children Lee (Kylie) Randall and Ashley Randall; his grandchildren Charlie, Willow, Ivy, Ryker, Lylah, and Mylee; his mother, Shirley (Milne Miltz) Randall; his sisters Kenne (Robert) Cherro and Toni (David) Johnson; his in-laws Shirley and Alan Scott; and numerous (great) nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Randall Sr., and numerous aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Donny’s residence on his birthday: Saturday, May 10, 2025, 1-5 p.m., 6018 Stepetz Rd., Aurora, MN 55705. Arrangements are with Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.
