Funeral service for Dorla Ann Langfeld, 87, of Aurora, will be 10:30am Friday, August 17, 2018 at United Methodist Church in Aurora with Pastor Barbara Hegfors officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Forest Hill Cemetery Columbarium in Aurora.
Dorla died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.
Dorla was born May 27, 1931 in Staples, MN to Fred and Nellie (Crocker) Miller. She attended rural school prior to graduating from Verndale High School in 1949. She attended Teachers Training in Fergus Falls from 1949-1950. Dorla taught for five years in Ottertail County, MN.
On July 9, 1955 she married Winfred Langfeld and moved to Embarrass in 1957. In 1961 they made their home in Aurora where she was a homemaker. Dorla was a Girl Scout Leader and an active member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora. She was a member of TOPS, SOAR, the All-Slav Club and enjoyed baking homemade rolls and cookies.
Survivors include her daughters: Lynn (Henry) Ruotsalainen of Hoyt Lakes and Lori (Ernie) Kurtock of Noblesville, Ind; sons: Mark of Virginia and David (Kim) of Chisholm; 13 grandchildren: Jason (Joey) Ruotsalainen, Jill (Kevin) Eckman, Jerod (Heather) Ruotsalainen, Julie Ruotsalainen, Joel (Sara) Ruotsalainen, Jon (Kori) Ruotsalainen, Amy (Josh) Dietrich, Nathan (Jesy) LeBlanc, Derek LeBlanc, Kevin Langfeld, Martina Stokes, Kyle Langfeld and James Langfeld; 18 great grandchildren: Jackson and Parker Lehti, Addison and Owen Eckman, Landon, Logan, Levi, Isabella, Aubrey, Vivian and Henry Ruotsalainen, Nikos and Eliza Paizis, Ari, Quentin and Hazel Dietrich, Calvin LeBlanc, and Kae’Lynn Stokes; siblings: Geraldine (Don) Greenwaldt, Audrey Nelson, Marilyn (Bill) Durrow, Fred (Jan) Miller, Jan Fallon, Norma (Bob) Horn and Ralph (Rosalie) Miller; brother-in-law, Willis Langfeld; sister-in-law, Lorraine Langfeld; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Winfred; brother, Kent Miller.
