Duane W Wierimaa

Visitation for Duane Wilho Wierimaa, 76, of Palo, will be 2:00-4:00pm Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.  A private family burial will take place in the Rauha Cemetery in Palo.

Duane died Friday, November 26, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.

He was born July 9, 1945 in Duluth, MN to Wilho and Alma (Valley) Wierimaa.  Duane attended Aurora Public Schools and later married Kathleen Jarvi on October 5, 1968 in Palo.

Duane worked for Malton Electric as a lead supervisor with nearly 50 years of service.  Duane had a strong work ethic and had a passion for fixing nearly anything.  Duane was often quoted saying “never get excited.”

Survivors include his wife, Kathy; and his son, Danny; niece, Dawn McMillan; brothers-in-law, Jim and Tom; sister-in-law, Delores.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilho and Alma and his sisters: Darlene and one in infancy.
