Funeral service will be 11 am Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Fr. Frank Perkovich officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30-11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Gilbert Fire Department Special Equipment Fund. Edward Thomas Devich, 85, of Gilbert died Monday, May 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Edward was born on June 11, 1932 to Thomas and Anna (Skrop) Devich in Gilbert. He grew up in Gilbert, graduating from the Gilbert High School, Class of 1950. Following high school, Ed attended Eveleth Junior College for two years. He had been employed by Reliable and Martin Chevrolet in their parts department. Edward was united in marriage to Marjorie Miller on August 30, 1968 at the Holy Family Church in Eveleth. In 1974, Edward purchased Range Auto Parts which he owned and operated until the time of his death. Edward was a member of the Gilbert School Board. He also served on the Gilbert Water and Light Commission, Gilbert HRA, Range Schools Industrial Board and was a lifetime member of the Croatian Fraternal Union. Edward enjoyed watching sports in his spare time, especially the Green Bay Packers. Edward also took pleasure in taking Sunday drives and attending classic car shows. Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Marjorie; two sons: Todd (Rachel) Devich of Gilbert and Dr. Nicholas (Jill) Devich of Virginia; four grandchildren: Lauryn, Eli, Ian, and Gavin; and one niece, Sandra Markovich of Virginia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Salo; and his parents.
