Funeral service will be 10 am Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Father Peter Lambert officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Ethyl Marie Fondie, 90, a longtime Aurora resident, died Saturday, March 9th, 2019, at her residence of Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora. She was born October 25th, 1928, to Joseph and Dorothy (Norton) Chase in Oshkosh, Wis. Ethyl was a graduate of Eveleth High School. She lived in Oshkosh and Bloomer, Wis., before moving to Eveleth in 1936. On April 8th, 1950, she was united in marriage to Oliver M. Fondie in Aurora, Minn. They lived in Aurora, Minnesota where she was a homemaker. Ethyl enjoyed baking, cooking, cross-stitching, knitting, and quilting. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and family. Her greatest pleasure was sharing her cooking and baking with her family and friends. She is survived by her grandchildren, Gina (Rob) Sanvik of North Branch, Minn. and Lance (Tiffany) Fondie of Aurora; great grandchildren, Cooper and Ryan Sanvik, Krystina and Drake Nicholas and Oliver Fondie; several Nieces and Nephews: and brother, Edward Chase. She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver Fondie; son, Lyle Fondie; sister, Betty Sedey; brother-in-law, Robert Sedey; and her parents.
