Memorial service for Joe Henry Bauman,91, of Hoyt Lakes will be 10am Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Trinity Methodist Church in Hoyt Lakes with Rev. Jerry Kosanovich officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment with military honors accorded by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Joe died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Northland Village in Hoyt Lakes, MN. He was born January 20, 1927 in Lake George, MN to Benjamin and Electa (Fox) Bauman. He attended school in Lake George and was drafted into the US Army at the age of 18. Joe served 1945-1946 as a Private First Class in Germany. Following his service, he worked as a farmhand. On October 28, 1950 he married Illa Sager in Starkweather, ND. In 1964 they moved to Hoyt Lakes where he worked for Erie Mining Company. He retired from LTV Steel in 1989 as a laborer. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, The Hoyt Lakes VFW and the Aurora American Legion Posts. Survivors include his Children: Rodney (Lisa) Bauman of Savage, Gerald (Vicki) Bauman of Colorado, Joanne (Michael) Holter of Hoyt Lakes, Carol (Jack) Koski of Hoyt Lakes and Patricia (Rob) Forister of Sheridan, Wyo.; 11 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; Siblings: his twin brother, Jim (Vera) Bauman of Washington, Mayabelle Morganson of Bemidji, George Bauman of Washington and Grace Donat of Bemidji; special friend, Eleanor Jarvi of Hoyt Lakes and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Illa (1992), Siblings: Dale, Al, Ben and Margaret.
