John Clark Long

John Long, age 78, of Aurora MN, previously of Wilber NE, passed away peacefully Friday, September 20, 2024, at his home.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora MN, with Pastor Greg Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. 

Celebration of life will be held following the service at THE BAR. John loved all sports, everyone is encouraged to wear a sports jersey representing their favorite team.

John Clark Long was born September 19, 1946 to Clark Henderson Long and Laura (Lull) Long of Morrowville, KS. John grew up and attended school in Morrowville receiving a Bachelor of Science in DNR from Kansas State University.

John was united in marriage to Florence on October 13, 1980 in Las Vegas, NV. He and Florence enjoyed taking road trips around the country side and visiting family in Nebraska.

John was a 50-year masonic grand master third degree, active in Shriners. Papa enjoyed gardening, long nature walks, reading the daily newspaper, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs with his grandson, Colt. He enjoyed all his grandchildren. 

John is survived by his daughter Cassie Long and grandchildren Colt and Bella; step-children Brad Crocker (his extended family), Dawn (Roger) Randall & Calvin Crocker. Step-grandchildren Nathan Randall, April (Blake) Hendrickson, Crystal (Trea) Carver, sisters-in-law Mary Anderson, Janice Skillman, brother-in-law Richard Breum, many loving great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A special thank you to Moments Hospice for the great care he received.

He is preceded in death by his wife Florence, parents Clark & Laura; parents-in-law Walter & Lydia Skillman; sister Judy Collins; sister-in-law Kathy Breum, brothers-in-law Martin Skillman and Don Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

John and Florence will be laid to rest at Hickory Grove (Blocker) Cemetery in Haddam KS at a later date.
