Memorial service for Judith Elaine Pinkney, 83, of Mission Texas and Hoyt Lakes, will be 10:30am Friday, July 26, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Deacon Mark Skala officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery columbarium. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.
Judy died Monday, July 15, 2024 surrounded by family at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas.
She was born February 27, 1941 in Pontiac, Michigan to Olaf and Olive (Kenner) Johnson. Judy was a graduate of Devils Lake, ND High School and later earned her Bachelors in Education from Mayville State College. She taught for 26 years; beginning in Gilbert and retiring from the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes/Mesabi East School District.
Judy met Ronald Pinkney one evening at the Boom Boom Room in Biwabik and on June 17, 1967 they were united in marriage. Following retirement, the couple spent many winters with great friends in Mission, Texas. She enjoyed her family and friends. She loved playing cards, reading a good book, social events and pool time. Judy loved life!
Survivors include her husband, Ron; daughters: Sara Pinkney Grewe (Joe) of Orange, CA and Beth Ann Pinkney of Woodbury, MN; grandson, Carson Grewe of Orange, CA; brother, Bruce (Barb) Johnson of Virginia; sisters-in-law: Kathy Pinkney of Greenville, NC and Dana Johnson of Bismark, ND; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
