A funeral service conducted by family and friends of Kathleen A. (Biondich) Himmelright, 79, of Eveleth, will be 11:00am Friday, February 28, 2025 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik with a celebration of her life following at the Gilbert Community Center.
Kathleen died Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth surrounded by her family during her transition.
She was born May 4, 1945 in Virginia, Minnesota to Milan and Dorothy (Aase) Biondich. Kathleen was a 1963 graduate of Biwabik High School and later married Keith Himmelright on April 14, 1965. The couple resided at Ely Lake where they raised their three children.
Kathleen was employed as a baker at Red Owl and was a technician in the audiology department for many years at the Essentia Clinic. Kathy loved God above everything else and was a faithful Christian. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She was viewed as a “second mom” by many.
She was considered a kind, compassionate and a loving friend who loved everyone with a huge heart. She enjoyed cooking and loved hosting family or friend get-togethers. She enjoyed listening to music and was a supporter of charity work and several charities, including St. Jude.
Survivors include her husband, Keith; children: Sheila (Terry) Cave of Gilbert, Craig Himmelright of Eveleth and Brett (Jesse) Himmelright of Hibbing; sisters: Donna (Glen) Isaacson and Sherry (Mike) Plesha of Bass Lake; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Milan and Dorothy Biondich; sisters: Phyllis Lahti and Bonnie Rojeski; her in-laws, Kenneth and Helen Himmelright; grandson-in-law, Stanley Miller.
