Leonard A. Pelto

 Memorial service for Leonard Arne Pelto, 65, of Palo, will be 11am Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Heritage Trail Bible Church in McKinley, Minnesota with Pastor Gus Layman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in the Rauha Cemetery in Palo.

Leonard died Friday, February 21, 2025 at his home in Palo.

He was born April 4, 1959 in Virginia, Minnesota to Arne and Lois Pelto and was a 1977 graduate of Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School. Leonard began working in the logging industry and for many years has worked as a welder for the Iron Workers Unions.

Leonard was an excellent craftsman who enjoyed working with wood and metal. He enjoyed racing motorcycles, riding four wheelers and snowmobiling. Leonard was a quiet soul who always showed kindness and compassion to others.

Survivors include his sister, Linda (Chuck) Schanno of Virginia; brother, Keith (Kelly) Pelto of Markham; nephews: Kerry (Gerilyn) Schanno, Jason (Nicole) Schanno, Jesse Schanno and Arne (Hannah) Pelto; several great nieces, great nephews and cousins survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arne and Lois Pelto.
