Leslie M. Young

Leslie Marvel (Guttormson) Young, age 72 of Hoyt Lakes, passed away at his home on September 21, 2022 after a long illness.  He was born October 24, 1949 in Fargo ND, the son of Marvel and Ragna (Ambroson) Guttormson.  Les grew up in Hoyt Lakes and graduated from AHL (Aurora Hoyt Lakes) High School.  Les later attended Mesabi Community College and earned an Associate degree in Computer Science.  He worked many years as a programmer/analyst.

Leslie is survived by his wife, Linda (Smiley) Young; sons Tyler Jon, Chad Leslie and daughter Dana Nelson (Brian); grandchildren Steven (Lexi), Jacob (Yessi), Luke, Cara, Tucker (Ashley), Cadence; step sons Jeff (Diane) and Brad McWilliams; step grandchildren Jalyn and Austin McWilliams; step great grandson Charlie; sisters Roxanne Madrinich and Miriam Balstad; brothers Donald (Bonnie)and Dave (Sue) Guttormson; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held October 23, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Hoyt Lakes Community Building.  Donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Dementia Society of America are appreciated.
