Memorial service for Linda Louise LaCount, 69, of Hoyt Lakes will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Pastor Barbara Hegfors officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Linda died Monday, April 22, 2019 at Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora. She was born on February 22, 1950 to Henry and Irja (Keste) Fondie in Biwabik.   Linda was a 1968 graduate of the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School where she was active as a Majorette and Flag Twirler in the marching band.  Following high school, Linda worked for a while in the Twin Cities.  She married Terry LaCount and the couple had one child until they parted ways.   Linda worked for Contell Telephone Company in Aurora where she met Denny Mikkelson, whom she has spent the past 36 years with.  Linda had been employed as a bank teller for Wells Fargo, Northridge Credit Union, and most recently the State Bank of Gilbert Hoyt Lakes Branch.  Linda has a passion for gardening and growing flowers and took great pride in the work she did on the Hoyt Lakes Garden Club.  The greatest joy in her life was being “Gramma” to all her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Jesse (Rachel) LaCount of Hoyt Lakes; her life partner of 36 years: Denny Mikkelson of Hoyt Lakes; stepchildren: Chad Mikkelson and Christine (Steve) Peterson both of Hoyt Lakes; grandchildren: Ashley (Kadin Erickson) Nelson of Hoyt Lakes, Dallas LaCount of Hoyt Lakes; Alex (Orin) Quinn of Brisband, Australia, Vanessa and Natalie Mikkelson and Huck and Mac Peterson all of Hoyt Lakes; five siblings: Dixie Mengelkoch, Jerry (Vickie) Fondie, Joe (Diane) Fondie, Julie Norby, and Jack (Delinda) Fondie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
