Funeral service for Marion Delores Burton, 92, of rural Aurora, will be 11:00am Monday, November 27, 2023 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Pastor Terry Sonnentag officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora.
Marion died Saturday, November 18, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born November 16, 1931 in Drummond, Wisconsin to Adolph and Martha (Kraemer) Bjork. Following high school, she worked at the local resorts and restaurants in Bayfield County. There she met Theodore Burton Sr at Grandview while waitressing. On November 11, 1951 they married in Ashland, Wisconsin.
Marion worked in a cannery and operated a dairy and crop farm with her husband. In 1957 they moved to Hoyt Lakes and later built their home south of Aurora. She raised her children and worked at the Green Needle in Hoyt Lakes. She enjoyed baking and made numerous wedding cakes. She was creative; she was an artist, enjoyed crocheting, traveling in the motorhome and spending time at the cabin on the island at Birch Lake.
Survivors include her children: Ted Jr. of Hoyt Lakes and Patty (William) Warren of Aurora; grandchildren: Sheila Burton, Andy Warren and Bryan (Samantha) Warren; great grandchildren: Thea, Noah, Addy, Marley, Elsa and Caleb; one expected great great granddaughter, Anora Marion; siblings: Art (Barb) Bjork, Richard (Doris) Bjork, Karl (Diane) Bjork, Karen Scheibe, Norma (Richard) Mellinger and Bill (Darlene) Bjork; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Martha; husband, Theodore Sr.; grandson, Travis Warren; brother, Don Bjork; sister, Wilma Fleming
