Memorial service for Mark Gene Henry, 61, of Hoyt Lakes will be 12:00 pm Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hoyt Lakes with Pastor Brian Birk officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora at a later date. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Mark died Thursday March 14, 2019 at his home due to natural causes.
He was born on December 28, 1957 to Gene and Cecilia (Zeno) Henry in Virginia. He grew up in Hoyt Lakes and graduated from the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School, Class of 1976. Mark was employed by Erie/LTV Steel as a service truck driver until his retirement after 29 years of service. Mark was united in marriage to Lois Johnson on August 29, 1981. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping at Whiteface Campground, gardening, and singing karaoke. He took great pride in carrying on the Henry tradition of maintaining the flower garden around the flagpole at the Hoyt Lakes VFW. Mark took the greatest pleasure in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his two children: Mike (Leah) Henry of Aurora and Jen (James) McNeill of Cloquet; two grandchildren: Owen and Peyton Henry; three siblings: Sharon (Chuck) Williams of Aurora, Scott (Lory Keranen) Henry of Aurora and Julie (Ron) Pospeck of Hoyt Lakes; his father-in-law, Marvin (Gloria) Johnson; brothers-in-law: James (Linda Peterson) and Randy Johnson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; a granddaughter, Elizabeth; his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda Henry and Ron Johnson
Mark’s family takes comfort in knowing that Mark is now reunited with the love of his life, Lois and his faithful companion, his black lab, Hunter.
