Memorial service for Marlene R. Zank, 84, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 10am Thursday September 6, 2018 at Our Lady of Hope Parish in Hoyt Lakes with Fr. Peter Lambert officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Marlene died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Aurora under hospice care. She was born December 25, 1933 in Duluth, Minnesota to Carl and Harriette (Bartella) Engstrom. Following her schooling, she worked for Western Electric in Duluth. There, she met her husband Donald. They were married May 26, 1956 in Duluth. The couple moved to Hoyt Lakes in 1957. Marlene worked for Salmi Homes, the Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory and Virginia Regional Medical Center. She retired as an Avon Sales Representative with 20 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Hoyt Lakes and the Assumption Group. She enjoyed bird watching and interior decorating, but her passion was shopping. Survivors include her daughters: Marcy (Richard) Keil of Aurora and Rachael (Scott Cleveland) Zank of Hoyt Lakes; grandchildren, Nicole Keil and Travis Ferris, both of Aurora; great grandchildren: Kendra, Autum and Caleb; niece, Jackie Stenberg of Superior. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald and a sister, Jean.
