Funeral Mass for Patricia D. Svir, 92, of Aurora, will be 11:00am Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Our Lady of Hope Parish in Aurora with Fr. David Forsman as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will be at a later date in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.
Pat died Thursday, January 16, 2025 at her home surrounded by family under hospice care.
She was born March 29, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Anthony and Mary (Gregorich) Drama. Pat was a graduate of Aurora High School and later married Stanley Fondie on September 16, 1950 in Aurora.
Pat worked at Ketola’s Shoe Store, was a homemaker and began to raise her family. Later, she married Leo Svir on November 24, 1978. They co-owned and operated Forest Garden Motel in Aurora from 1987 until 1994.
Pat was a member of the Aurora American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed maintaining and cleaning the Aurora Park for over 30 years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, cleaning and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Leo; children: Russell (Jennifer) Fondie, Jeanne (Gary) Starken and Judy Vreeland; step-children: Kent Svir, Mark (Iris) Svir and Daniel (Tiny) Svir; grandchildren: Troy, Todd, Tammy, April, Tommy, Nikole, Dana, Micheal, Kristen, Casey, Jennifer, Taylor, Aaron, Nicholas, Jessica, Nicholas, Danya, Derek and Dylan; numerous great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Diane Fondie also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary; first husband, Stanley; sons: Michael Fondie and Terry Svir; grandson, Cody Vreeland; siblings: Donald Drama (MIA Korea), Virginia Johnson, Russell Drama and Mary Carol Makkyla.
