Rosella J Potocnik

A private family graveside service for Rosella J. Potocnik, 92, of Virginia, formerly of Eveleth, will be held at a later date. She died Monday June 10, 2019 at Edgewood Vista in Virginia, MN.  Local arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert.  Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Research, 4125 SW Gage Center Dr., Topeka, KS 66604

Rosella was born February 9, 1927 in Kinney, MN to Anton and Frances (Prijatel) Tuk. Rosella was raised in Kinney and was a 1945 graduate of Buhl High School.  She attended Virginia Jr. College in 1947 where she studied vocal music and played clarinet in the college band.

On August 7, 1951 she married Edward Potocnik in Gilbert. Rosella was a homemaker and member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Eveleth.  She spent summers at Lake Eshquaguma with family and while there she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.

Survivors include her daughters: Judy Earl of Minneapolis and Mary Potocnik of Eveleth; grandchildren: Alexandra Earl and Nicholas Earl; sisters: Helen Deanovic and Dorothy (Stuart) Sandhofer-Leck; brothers-in-law: Anthony (Carol) Potocnik and Thomas Potocnik; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward; siblings: Anthony, Frank, Victoria Stebe, Mary Germ-Hill, Ann Petrich, Edward and William.
