Funeral Mass of Sharon H. Sale, 76, of Hoyt Lakes will be 10 am Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes with Fr. Peter Lambert celebrating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Monday at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue one hour prior to mass at the church. Inurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora at a later date. Sharon died Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s in Duluth. Sharon was born on May 10, 1942 to Alfred and Mabel (Watts) Strand in Minneapolis. She grew up and attended school in Minneapolis. During high school, Sharon’s family moved to Aurora while her father helped build the mines. It was during this time she met the love of her life, John Sale. She returned to Minneapolis where she graduated from Roosevelt High School, Class of 1960. On August 26, 1961 Sharon and John were married. The couple moved to Hoyt Lakes where they started their family. She was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes. Sharon was a devoted wife and mother. Her children remember coming home to her always being there. Sharon enjoyed gardening, stained glass, wood carving, crafts, quilting, and sewing. She took the greatest joy in her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children: Shelly (John) Froehle of Eau Claire, Leslie Sale of Elk River, Christine (Mark) Wick of Hoyt Lakes, Jennifer Sale of Hoyt Lakes, James (Tanya) Sale of St. Michael and John (Tanya) Sale of Hoyt Lakes; thirteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack (Karen) Strand of Plano, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; two brothers: Larry and Dale Strand; and her parents, Alfred and Mabel Strand.
