Memorial service will be Noon Friday, March 15, 2024 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hoyt Lakes with Pastor Charles Barnes and Deacon Richard Johnston officiating. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Shirley Mae Tisdell, 88, of Hoyt Lakes died Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the Guardians Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hibbing.
Shirley was born on May 3, 1935 to William and Gertrude (Sykes) Forward in Bemidji. She grew up and attended school in Bemidji. On August 16, 1952 she was united in marriage to Harry Tisdell. The couple moved to Hoyt Lakes in 1956. Shirley worked as a nursing assistant for many years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Hoyt Lakes and the Hoyt Lakes VFW Auxiliary. She was a very active citizen of Hoyt Lakes having volunteered for several youth and civic organizations. Shirley enjoyed playing cards, fishing, quilting and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her three sons: Tim (Sammy) of Hibbing, Jeffery (Treva) of Marshfield, WI and Donald (Barb) of Eureka, IL; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; sister, Bonnie Prichard; brothers: Jim “Bubba” and Bill Forward; and her parents.
