STANLEY EDWARD INDIHAR
Stanley Edward Indihar, 97, of Gilbert, MN, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, in the presence of family members at Good Samaritan in Stillwater, MN. Born on September 14, 1921 in Elcor, MN, Stan graduated from Gilbert High School and later received an advanced television repair certification in Chicago, IL. After serving in the army during WW II in the China-Burma-India Theater, he married Eleanor June Dombroski from Gilbert, MN. He was the owner and operator of United Hardware Store in Gilbert for over 60 years.
Stan was a member of the Gilbert Knights of Columbus for over 50 years achieving the honor of Fourth Degree. Stan was the Treasurer for the Gilbert American Legion Post for 20 years and an usher for St. Joseph's Catholic Church for 37 years.
Stan enjoyed gatherings that included playing horse shoes, dancing to polka music and holiday celebrations with his extended family. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
Stan is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his children, Mary Osmundson and Bob (Val) Indihar; four grandchildren, Adam (Shelby) Indihar, Chad (Allyson) Indihar, Rachel Indihar, and Kristen Indihar; and one great-grandchild, Joni Indihar. He is also survived by his sister, Evelyn Weimar, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy; his parents, Frank and Magdalene; and his siblings, Joseph, Ann, Frank, Edward, Rudy, Mayme, Anthony, Rose and Clarence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert on Monday, April 15, at 10:00. Burial will take place in Gilbert Cemetery immediately after the mass.
