A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 - 3 pm Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Susan Darlene Olson, 75, of Gilbert passed away peacefully Saturday, June 22, 2019 at her home. She was born on March 24, 1944 to Elmer and Marian (Swap) Randa in Cloquet. Sue was united in marriage to Larry Olson on May 3, 1962. She had been employed by the Short Stop in Biwabik where she was known as “Sexy Short Stop Sue”. Sue enjoyed sewing, baking and cheating at card games. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Sue also ran a daycare out of her home and loved her daycare children as her own. Sue’s home was always full of life, love, and laughter, especially during the summers when her nieces and nephews would come to visit. She cherished the time that she spent with her grandchildren. Sue will be remembered for her infectious laugh, and her loving home and heart. She will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include her husband, Larry; four children: Michael Olson of South Carolina, Lynn (Joe) Major of Grand Rapids, MN, Lori Olson of Bonney Lake, WA, and Tanya (John) Sale of Hoyt Lakes; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a baby boy on the way; siblings: Larry (Sandy) Randa of Cloquet, John Randa of Duluth and Linda (Dan) Marafiot of Mt. Iron She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Alan Olson and her parents.
