Sylvia Bernice Thelen

Sylvia Bernice (Cope) Thelen, 88, of Aurora, Minnesota died on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Carefree Living in Aurora.

Sylvia was born March 5, 1935 to James and Marie (Westlund) Cope in Cloquet, Minnesota.

She married Benjamin Thelen on June 15, 1957.

Sylvia moved to Aurora in 1964 where she lived for the rest of her life.

She enjoyed coloring, puzzles, and word searches. She loved spending time with the kids and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; parents, James and Marie; and four brothers and four sisters.

Sylvia is survived by her sons, Bruce and James; bonus sons, Jesse and Dave; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Rudolph and Dwayne Cope; sisters, Alice Miller, Linda Kesty, and Pat Holmes; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the American Legion in Aurora. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Atkinson Cemetery in Atkinson Township, Minnesota. Arrangements are with Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.
