Memorial service for Theodore Charles Rupert, 93, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 10:30am Friday, October 12, 2018 at The Assembly of God Church in Aurora with Pastor Derrick DeTurk officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Theodore died Saturday October 6, 2018 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born June 6, 1925 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to Adelbert and Elsie Rupert. Following his schooling he served in the US Army during WWII. Following his military service, he married Lulu Mae Root on June 28, 1947 in Grand Rapids. He began working in Grand Rapids in the mining industry and retired from Erie Mining Company in the mid-1980’s. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, the Timothy Robinson VFW Post in Hoyt Lakes and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the former Aurora Moose Lodge. Survivors include his daughters: Connie Hibben of Hoyt Lakes and Lois Jane (Harold) Myers of Hoyt Lakes; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; siblings: Elmer, David, Mae, Gladys and Irene; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lulu; daughters: Mary and Carol in infancy and Marie; sisters: Merle, Kit and Dolly.
